If you’ve been strolling along Avenue de Rumine, you might’ve noticed Nau, a new brasserie that’s creating ripples in Lausanne’s dining scene. Helmed by world champion écailler Tiago Jesus and chef Gilberto Ferrinho, Nau is a celebration of refined flavors, fresh ingredients, and an atmosphere that’s both elevated and inviting.
Seafood fans will delight in the already-popular seafood bar, while the land-to-sea menu caters to all tastes. From expertly grilled fish—deboned tableside with precision—to standout sides like seasonal vegetables with parsnip emulsion in orange-cardamom oil, every dish feels like an edible work of art. The braised cabbage in broth with capers? A surprise hit that stole the show. As was the slow-cooked spare ribs that melted in our mouths as well as the melty cauliflower with Piedmontese hazelnuts and smoked goat's cheese.
The service at Nau deserves its own applause. Accommodating and attentive, the staff ensured that every dietary need at our table was met with ease. Their warmth, paired with the restaurant’s cozy, familiar vibe, makes Nau more than a meal—it’s an experience.
And though the plates boast finesse, there’s an undeniable sense of care and love in the cooking. Every bite feels decadent, but not overindulgent—a perfect balance that leaves you satisfied, not stuffed. Whether you’re popping in for a relaxed lunch, an indulgent dinner, or simply to marvel at the octopus art installation, Nau is the kind of place you’ll want to come back to again and again.
Ready to dive in? We promise, the water’s perfect.
