Wondering what's going on in and around Lausanne? Check out our picks for this week:

  • May – Chef Charles Pop-Up at Deli Social. One for the food lovers who like their dinner with a side of intention. After stepping away from academia and spending the past three years shaping his culinary voice through music events, private projects, and deeply personal experimentation, Chef Charles is taking over Deli Social for a month-long residency. The concept is refreshingly intimate: just 16 guests gathered around one shared table, where the usual restaurant formalities give way to conversation, connection, and a more human way of dining. Expect a five-course vegetarian tasting menu inspired by the season and built around thoughtful collaborations with passionate local producers—paired exclusively with non-alcoholic drinks for a different kind of sensory experience. This is less “going out for dinner” and more stepping into someone’s creative world for the evening.
  • Festival Bande Dessinée Lausanne
Lausanne quietly turns into a comic-lover’s playground, with illustrations spilling out of galleries and onto unexpected corners of the city.
  • Moustique at Le Petit Théâtre. Tucked just below the cathedral, Le Petit Théâtre hosts this tender, slightly philosophical piece that feels as much for adults as it is for kids. “Moustique” follows a curious 7-year-old whose endless questions spiral into something surprisingly deep—touching on identity, family, and growing up with humor and sensitivity. It’s intimate, thoughtful, and a refreshing change of pace if you’re craving something quieter but still meaningful.
  • Every Tuesday – Outdoor Yoga at Parc de l’Hermitage
A midweek reset with one of the best views in Lausanne. This outdoor yoga class invites you to slow down, stretch, and breathe—surrounded by greenery and overlooking the lake. Whether you’re a regular or just curious, it’s an easy, feel-good way to carve out a calm moment in your week (and maybe stay a little longer in the park after). Book here.
  • Wednesday – Exhibition Opening “La Fête au Village” (Les Docks)
A different side of Les Docks—trading concert crowds for a more reflective, visual experience. “La Fête au Village” taps into collective memory and celebration, blending art and nostalgia in a way that feels both familiar and slightly surreal. Swing by the opening to catch the first look (and the atmosphere that comes with it).
  • Friday to Sunday – The Village Players present "Blithe Spirit" by Noel Coward
A few evenings of live theatre with that intimate, slightly nostalgic charm only local productions deliver. A love letter to theatre… and everything that can go wrong behind the scenes. This English-language comedy follows a small amateur troupe trying (and failing) to pull off a play, with rehearsals spiralling into chaos and opening night hanging by a thread. Expect fast-paced mishaps, sharp humor, and a cast that feels just close enough to us—you might even spot a familiar face on stage...
  • Friday to Sunday (Vernissage on Thursday) – À L’Abordage Design Lausanne
For design lovers or the design-curious, this is where things get interesting. Think bold ideas, emerging creatives, and objects that blur the line between functional and artistic. It’s the kind of event where you walk in “just to have a look” and leave full of inspiration.
  • Thursday to Sunday – Lausanne Art Fair
A must for anyone curious about the contemporary art scene, whether you’re a seasoned collector or just here to wander and discover. Expect a mix of emerging and established artists, striking works across different mediums, and the kind of atmosphere that makes art feel accessible rather than intimidating. The perfect excuse to spend an afternoon getting inspired—and maybe seeing Lausanne through a slightly different lens.
  • May 8-31 – Luna Park Bellerive
A little nostalgic, a little chaotic—in the best way. Bright lights by the lake, the sound of rides in the background, and that unmistakable fairground energy. Whether you’re in it for the adrenaline or just the vibes (and snacks), it’s an easy, playful evening option.
  • On Saturday, a series of small but meaningful moments across the city—Lausanne continues to give space (literally) to women who shaped its history. Streets, squares, and public places are being renamed or inaugurated to highlight figures who’ve long been overlooked, turning everyday walks into quiet acts of remembrance. It’s subtle, symbolic, and a reminder that the city itself is evolving—one name at a time.
  • Saturday – Spring Market by Station24.store (in front of The Great Escape)
Expect curated stalls, local brands, and a crowd that’s here to browse, chat, and soak up the season. It’s relaxed, stylish, and perfect for a slow Saturday wander.
  • Saturday – The Hilarious, Deep & Amazing Lausanne Comedy Show (with Gilli Apter, one of South Africa’s top comedians, featured on the Netflix show Only Jokes Allowed.)
An evening that lives up to its name—smart, sharp, and just the right amount of unhinged. Gilli Apter brings a mix of personal storytelling and quick-fire punchlines, with a lineup that keeps the energy unpredictable from start to finish. Expect laughs, a few “too real” moments, and the kind of crowd that’s fully in on the joke.
  • Saturday – Inauguration Rue de l’Académie (Cité)
A fresh new chapter for one of Lausanne’s historic streets. For one afternoon, Rue de l’Académie turns into a lively, pedestrian-friendly celebration with music, workshops, games, and plenty of reasons to linger. Expect a warm, neighborhood feel—part street party, part rediscovery of a familiar corner of the city.
  • Saturday – Dispatched Divorcée Presents: Ladies’ Night at Diff (Place du Tunnel 9, Lausanne). Confident, unapologetic, and all about letting loose. Six women will take the stage to tell a story they've never told out loud. Expect strong energy, great music (the stage will transform into a dance party with DJ Ekkira), and a space that feels equal parts party and celebration. Whether you’re going all out or just curious, it’s one of those nights that doesn’t hold back.
  • Saturday – Puma Blue at Théâtre de l'Octogone
For those leaning into slower, moodier sounds—this one’s for you. Puma Blue’s hazy blend of indie, jazz, and lo-fi textures creates a late-night feel, even in a seated venue. Expect something intimate, a little melancholic, and completely absorbing.
  • Sunday   F*ck the Small Talk #3. This event is something a little different from what you have probably experienced before. It’s a refreshing & fun way of meeting new people by getting a bit out of your comfort zone and skipping the small talk — perfect for people who are looking for new friends, tired of having the same old conversations, and/or simply want to experience something new.
