Tucked away at the intersection of Avenue de Tivoli and Pont Chauderon, Kung-fu Cuisine is a hidden gem that shouldn’t be overlooked. Whether we’re grabbing a quick lunch or gathering a group for a family-style feast, the tables here are perpetually in motion. Waitresses dash back and forth, balancing trays of Tsingtao beers and platters of vibrant, steaming dishes that fill the air with the rich aromas of garlic and Sichuan spices.
The menu offers a variety of classic Chinese dishes, from handmade dumplings and noodles to a flavorful lineup of spicy specialties. While it’s hard to go wrong with anything on offer, I’m always drawn to their Sichuan spiced dishes — the mapo tofu, beef in spicy sauce, and dry-fried green beans are staples I find impossible to resist. (I know, green beans don’t sound exciting, but trust me — I order these at every Chinese restaurant I visit, and Kung-fu Cuisine’s version never disappoints.)

For something refreshing to balance the heat, the Rainbow Salad is a must-try. This Northeastern specialty combines chunky transparent noodles and crisp vegetables in a rich sesame sauce, making it a light yet satisfying complement to the spicier plates.
