When the temperatures climb, there’s only one thing on our minds: ice cream. Whether you’re craving a classic Italian gelato, something a little more adventurous, or even a fish-shaped waffle cone filled with soft serve, Lausanne has no shortage of great places to cool down.
Here are some of our favorite ice cream spots in and around Lausanne to help you survive the heatwave.

📍 Avenue du Théâtre 7, Lausanne
A little taste of Italy in the city center. Bongusto serves creamy artisan gelato alongside excellent Italian coffee, making it just as good for an afternoon break as it is for dessert.
TLG tip: Authentic Italian gelato and espresso.

📍 Rue de Bourg 5, Lausanne
A Lausanne institution better known for its chocolate, Blondel also serves delicious homemade ice cream during the warmer months. Expect rich, classic flavors made with the same attention to quality they’re known for.
TLG tip: Try the Chocolate-based ice creams.

📍 Boulevard de Grancy 45 & Flon, Lausanne
One of the city’s favorite gelaterias, the line outside their shop speaks for itself. Loom is known for its silky gelato, seasonal ingredients and creative flavor combinations. It is always worth the wait.
TLG tip: Their new flavor with Urban Kombucha.

📍 Place Pépinet 2, Lausanne
Handcrafted Italian gelato made with carefully selected ingredients and no unnecessary additives. Rich, smooth and packed with flavor, it’s become a favorite in the city center.
TLG tip: The mint chocolate is like an after eight that melts in your mouth.

📍 Rue Enning 8, Lausanne (And Now in Vidy)
A small artisan glacier tucked away in the old town, serving everything from timeless classics to inventive seasonal flavors. They also make excellent milkshakes and affogatos.
TLG tip: We love their Affogatos.

📍 Rue Pichard 11, Lausanne
A colorful gelateria offering a wide variety of classic Italian gelato, generous portions and plenty of fruity sorbets—perfect for a stroll through the city.
TLG tip: The chocolate sorbet and straciatella.

📍 Avenue de Chailly 1B & Avenue d’Ouchy 16, Lausanne
A local favorite where Italian tradition meets Asian inspiration. Alongside classics, you’ll find flavors like black sesame, matcha, yuzu and azuki that you won’t see everywhere else.
TLG tip: The Bouza with pistachios on top.

📍 Manor Lausanne & Every Wednesday at Parc de Milan
Not your traditional ice cream stop, but definitely one of the most fun. Their Japanese fish-shaped waffles are filled with soft serve and topped with colorful toppings.
TLG tip: Taiyaki filled with soft serve ice cream or the tiny bite sized fish-shaped waffles filled with chocolate.

📍 Ouchy, Place du Vieux Port
An Ouchy classic. Grab a cone before walking along the lakeside and choose from a large selection of creamy gelato and refreshing sorbets.
TLG tip: Meringue double creme is a dream.

📍 Route de Prilly 23, Crissier
Just outside Lausanne, Kalan creates beautifully crafted artisan Paleta with a focus on quality ingredients and elegant presentation. Well worth the short detour or you can find their ice cream at the many lakeside pop ups.
TLG tip: The raspberry hibiscus and cucumber lemon (we can't pick).
Whether you’re loyal to pistachio, always order lemon sorbet, or love trying something completely unexpected, these are the spots we find ourselves returning to all summer long. Now all that’s left to decide is… cone or cup?
PS: Don't forget to ask for fidelity cards; you know that you will be going back more than once.
