Oh brunch. That in-between meal that is part breakfast, part lunch, and all bliss. If we were writing this a decade ago, we would be hard-pressed to find spots for this list--but alas the brunch scene here in Lausanne has become more dynamic and we are *almost* spoiled for choice. Here's where you'll find us brunching on the weekends:
L'Impression Café
A favorite amongst foodies and Lausanne local neighbors alike, L'Impression is a spot to frequent outside of regular brunch hours as well. But if you're lucky enough to snag a table during brunch, you'll find that their plates, particularly their varieties of pancakes, are a feast for both the eyes and stomach. Äta
Lausanne' first Nordic-inspired restaurant has us delightfully surprised by the number of unrecognizable options on the menu. We can't pronounce what we order–in fact, we can't pronounce most of the menu…and we love that. How often are you surprised or intrigued by restaurant offerings here in Lausanne? Downtown
It's our tried-and-true breakfast spot. The OG of the Lausanne breakfast and brunch scene, Downtown spoils us when it comes to delicious choices and friendly service. Whether you like sweet or savory, there's something on the menu for everyone--including our favorite bacon and egg breakfast sandwich, their lovely and fluffy pancakes, and the only place in town you can get a legit breakfast burrito. Pair it with a flat white and you're golden.

Le Pointu
Eggs benedict, lobster mac & cheese, salmon blinis and french toast layered with bacon and eggs. If a decadent Lausanne brunch with a mimosa in hand is more your style, then head to Le Pointu on the weekends. Just don't forget to reserve, as many others have this brunch in mind too.

Loxton
And if you can't get a spot at Le Pointu, head over to its Lausanne sister spot, Loxton. A larger restaurant with more seating allows you to indulge in a similar style of brunch offerings on Saturday and Sunday. Our eyes are on the Duck & Potatoes as well as the Avocado Toast...yum. Folie Voltaire
No reservations, and not a whole lot of information online--but that's the beauty in showing up and hoping to snag a table under the trees at Folie Voltaire here in Lausanne's Parc Mon Repos. It doesn't get more picturesque and calming as this, so if you're ok with a simple menu of sweet or salty crepes and seasonal fruit, then mosey over to this gorgeous spot and let time stand still for just a little while.

Chalet des Enfants
Escape the center city of Lausanne for a bit of Swiss brunch soul food – cold meats and cheeses, warm eggs, flaky croissants, homemade jams, and some of the best bircher we’ve ever tasted. If you're looking for a quiet, slow start to the weekend then look no further than this quaint gem. It consistently serves as a reminder that in Lausanne, nature is never far.

L'Esquisse
Nestled just next to the charming L'Hermitage Museum here in Lausanne is an equally charming restaurant hidden amongst the canopies of trees and luscious vines. L'Esquisse is one of those terraces that makes you feel like you're living in a Jane Austen novel, without the angst and drama of course. Come here for a brunch menu on Saturday or Sunday, then why not mosey over to the museum and get a side of culture with your poached eggs?

TOM Café
In the true spirit of the Olympics, this brunch is a "go big or go home" type of affair. If the grand spread isn't enough, the views from TOM Café located on the top floor of the Olympic museum are some of the best in Lausanne, with a large terrace for the warmer months. Make sure to reserve, and when you're finished with brunching, why not mosey through the museum and revel in the history of the greatest games of our lifetime.

Tibits
It's one of those places that isn't necessarily top-of-mind for people when you think of going out to eat, but Tibits has a gorgeous interior and a huge variety to offer hungry (and health-conscious) brunchers. As Lausanne's first exclusively vegetarian and vegan restaurant, you can feel rest assured that the food is prepared with thought and care. No reservations are required, as it's a self-service buffet.
