Here at The Lausanne Guide, we love a good burger. Over the years, as we’ve explored Lausanne’s ever-expanding food scene, we’ve seen an explosion of options for burger lovers. You may already have your go-to spot for satisfying those cravings, but we challenge you to add this one to your list.

Just a six-minute train ride from Lausanne, tucked into the hillside of La Conversion, you’ll find The Bread Box. This takeaway-only spot is perfectly positioned with vineyards, the lake, and the city itself all within a ten-minute radius. Whether you’re picnicking among the vines, relaxing down by the waterfront, or grabbing a bite on the go, you’re spoiled for choice when it comes to where you can tuck into one of these delicious burgers.

Burger Melty

Originally crafting burger buns for the local restaurant scene, The Bread Box eventually decided to complete the equation—making not just the bread, but the burgers too. With a small, focused menu, they prioritize quality and flavor, never holding back on the extra toppings and sauces that turn each bite into an experience.

Like arms to a hug, their fresh, locally made buns hold everything together, creating a burger that is both satisfying and deeply flavorful.

We tried The Irish (with a whiff of whisky) and The Americano (with a Tex-Mex flex), but if you’re a fan of the classics with a Swiss twist, we recommend the 2 Cheese. And if you're feeling adventurous, be sure to check out their Burger of the Month, where creativity and bold flavors take center stage.

It’s tasty, it’s local, and it’s on the doorstep of the vines—and that's a winner for us.
