If you're searching for a welcoming spot in Lausanne to savor authentic Lebanese cuisine, Taole is a must-visit. When you walk in, the welcoming smiles of their staff make you feel directly at home. Taole captures the heart of Lebanese cooking with a menu that feels like a culinary trip to Beirut, with musical ambiance included.

Located in the heart of Lausanne, Taole - from the word Table in Lebanese, is all about combining tradition with a contemporary twist shared around a table with friends or family. Whether you're dining in its cozy, inviting space or grabbing a meal to go, the food speaks for itself.

We stopped by during lunch, and it was clear why Taole has become a local favorite and its so hard to find a booking. The menu boasts a selection of Lebanese classics, from creamy hummus and perfectly grilled kafta to the classic tabbouleh or the zesty fattoushe and of course the freshly baked spinach fatayer. The Assiette le guide touristique gives you a bit of everything: you get to choose four cold mezza and 4 warm rissoles. And if in doubt, ask the staff, they will be more than happy to guide you.

For a heartier option, the Assiete sandwich is a must-try, packed with tender meat or chicken, crispy salade fattouche and some hommos. TLG Tip: Ask for some extra tangy garlic sauce.

And don’t even think of leaving without sampling their sweets— everyone always assumes baklava is the Lebanese desert of choice, but that all changes once you have tried the Halawet el Jibn, or Crispy Ossmalie - no words to describe the mix of flavors- you just have to go try it for yourself.

And of course the meal is not complete without Cafe Blanc - contrary to the name, there is no caffeine in this drink instead its a heart warming orange blossom blend. But if you do want some caffeine then be sure to try the Lebanese coffee served in their traditional Lebanese chaffe cups.
