Rework Comes to Lausanne

Some stories start in boardrooms, others in sketchbooks. This one began on a sunny Saturday in LAAX, when Lausanne-based designer Diana Rikasari crossed paths with Kaspar Schlaeppi, founder of Rework. A casual conversation turned into one of those serendipitous moments—two people realizing they shared the same dream: to make fashion more joyful, more sustainable, and a little less ordinary.

If you’ve read our earlier piece on Diana, you’ll remember her as Lausanne’s upcycling queen—the one who can transform a pile of discarded fabrics into something bold, playful, and completely wearable. Her signature has always been color and contrast, finding beauty in what others overlook, and asking how fashion can both delight and do better.

Diana

That’s exactly what she’s brought to her new collaboration with Rework, launched to celebrate the opening of their brand-new shop on Rue Saint-Laurent 29. The collection is a tribute to childhood joy: spontaneous, imaginative, and unapologetically expressive. Inspired by Diana’s own childhood doodles, the pieces feature hearts, houses, stars, and flowers—motifs that nod to innocence and wonder, stitched into 100% upcycled textiles.

But the space is more than a capsule launch. The new Rework boutique also houses racks of the brand’s signature one-of-a-kind pieces alongside a curated edit of vintage finds—clothing with stories stitched into every seam, ready for new adventures.

So next time you’re wandering through Lausanne’s old town, step inside. You might find a dress patterned like your school notebook or a jacket with a past life you’ll never know—but what’s certain is that you’ll leave with something rare, joyful, and very Lausanne.
