Piquenique

It's hidden - it's the street that people know of as 'you know, the little one by the bubble tea shop by the metro'. But the Escaliers du Grand-Pont are central, and often a shortcut for many locals, and now these passersby can treat themselves at Piquenique.

Piquenique isn’t just another grab-and-go spot; it’s an experience shaped by the same creative minds that brought us Deli Social. We had the chance to tour this new space with Rhys, one of Piquenique’s founders, and got a glimpse of the thoughtful work behind the scenes. Designed by the talented team at Baraki Architects, the interior is a perfect blend of sleek, modern lines and inviting warmth, making every visit feel like a moment of calm amid the city’s bustle.

Ideally located by the Flon metro stop, Piquenique offers an easy way to grab something on the go, yet the space encourages you to linger. And then, of course, there’s the food! True to Deli Social’s ethos, Piquenique’s menu is anything but ordinary. Each item is crafted with seasonal ingredients and changes regularly, so there’s always a new flavor to discover. From the freshest, fluffiest pastries to sandwiches packed with creative combinations, every bite reflects their commitment to quality, sustainability, and local products.

Rhys, Emily, and the Deli Social team have created a space that feels both familiar and exciting, reflecting their commitment to Lausanne’s culinary community. If you’re looking for food that’s as thoughtful as it is delicious, Piquenique is bound to become a favorite stop.
