Wondering what's going on in and around Lausanne? Check out our picks for this week:

  • Verity – Screening Expat Night (Monday) - Settle in for a suspenseful evening at Pathé Flon with Verity, screened in English as part of Expat Night. Your ticket includes the movie, popcorn, a soft drink and an aperitif — the perfect recipe for a night at the cinema.
  • Mireille – Opéra de Lausanne (October 6, 9 & 11) - Fall in love with Provence without leaving Lausanne as Gounod’s Mireille brings sun-soaked landscapes, impossible love and a touch of dark romance to the stage.
  • Le Musée des Gloutons (Wednesday) - A museum visit with a delicious twist: kids aged 8–12 can head to the Naturéum at the Palais de Rumine to explore the big milestones of life on Earth, followed by a well-deserved gourmet snack. The 1.5–2-hour adventure starts at 2:30pm and, sorry grown-ups, this one is for the little gluttons only!
  • Dîner 4 Mains at Royal Savoy (Thursday) - Two chefs, five courses and a taste of the Mediterranean: the Brasserie du Royal welcomes Alexy Algar-Denos, finalist of Top Chef 2026, for a special four-hands dinner with Chef Alexis Ribes. Expect autumn flavours, bold ingredients and Catalan influences, paired with wines from Roussillon’s Domaine Danjou-Banessy. A one-night-only dinner for food lovers looking for something a little special.
  • ApéroExpats – 20th Edition (Friday, free event) - Lausanne’s locals and internationals come together for the 20th edition of ApéroExpats, a friendly, non-profit evening all about meeting new people and feeling a little more at home in the city. It’s completely free and open to everyone — just bring yourself and come ready to connect. Register here.
  • Swiss Coffee Connection (Saturday-Sunday) - Coffee lovers, clear your weekend: the Swiss Coffee Connection is back at Espace Amaretto for its 9th edition, celebrating specialty coffee and the people behind your favourite cup. Expect tastings, workshops, demonstrations, coffee stands, competitions and plenty of chances to geek out over great coffee — all around this year’s theme, Brewing the Future.
  • Atelier spécialités Ligures (Saturday) - Bring a little taste of Liguria to Lausanne and learn the secrets behind classic Genoese focaccia, onion focaccia and farinata at this hands-on workshop. You’ll make your own doughs and head home with everything ready to bake — dinner sorted.
  • La Bénichon (Sunday) - Get a taste of Fribourg’s great autumn feast without leaving Lausanne. Brasserie de Montbenon is serving up a special Bénichon menu celebrating classics like cuchaule and tangy mustard — a proper Sunday feast from 12–4pm.
  • Le Carac Rose (October 1–31) - October turns pink — and a little sweeter — as the Carac Rose returns for a month of treats, solidarity and breast cancer awareness. This year, the campaign also teams up with local brewery Dr. Gab’s, giving its alcohol-free Placebo RED a limited-edition pink makeover, with net profits from the collaboration going to Le Carac Rose. Pick up a pink carac at participating bakeries, or raise a glass with Dr. Gab’s, and enjoy a little local flavour while supporting prevention and early detection.
