Wondering what's going on in and around Lausanne? Check out our picks for this week:

  • Choc des Nations 2026: Les Grands Duels (Wednesday-Saturday) – Four countries, four legendary improvisers and no script! This international improv theatre tournament brings together performers from Switzerland, France, Belgium and Québec for a series of spontaneous showdowns, filmed live and projected onto a giant screen with real-time visual effects. The audience gets to vote for the winners! Catch the duels at Aula du Belvédère (November 4–5) and the semi-finals and finals at Théâtre de Beaulieu (November 6–7).
  • Fabulous Blind Test at Pavillon (Thursday) – Think you know your music? Put your song-recognition skills to the test at the debut of Fabulous Blind Test, a music quiz at Pavillon Bar & Kitchen in Riponne. Entry is free, and the winning team takes home a bottle of prosecco — so gather your music-loving friends and get ready to sing along, guess fast and claim the bubbly!
  • Coffee Meets Cuisine: A Special Tasting Dinner (Thursday-Friday). For two exclusive evenings, Chef Charles takes over the kitchen at Expe to create a multi-course tasting menu with a little coffee-inspired surprise, plus an optional wine pairing featuring favourites from the cellar. Vegetarian options are available on request, but seats are limited and reservations are essential — a deliciously different way to experience your favourite brew.
  • L’Affaire des Méga-constellations at Casino de Montbenon (Friday). What if satellites were put on trial? This interactive courtroom show invites the audience to act as jury and decide whether mega-constellations of satellites will save the world or make it unliveable. Blending humour, improvisation and science, the evening features experts and Swiss astronaut Claude Nicollier as a special guest. A thought-provoking night with a cosmic twist.
  • Vestiaires Nomades: Autumn–Winter Vide-Dressing (Saturday). Your next wardrobe favourite might be hiding on someone else’s clothes rail! Vestiaires Nomades returns to Lausanne for its fifth edition, bringing together 21 stands of vintage finds, fashion, accessories and styles for all genders and sizes. Browse the racks at Salle Villamont from 9:30am to 5:30pm, grab a coffee or matcha from Glouglou, or book a Color Flash session to discover which colours suit you best.
  • Reading Connections at Café Mozart (Saturday) – Swap scrolling for reading at Reading Connections, the first offline reading party in French-speaking Switzerland. Hosted by Injoignable at Art Deco Café Mozart, on the rooftop of Lausanne’s Music Conservatory, this two-hour gathering invites guests to put their phones away, bring a favourite book and enjoy silent reading sessions, one-on-one conversations and small-group discussions. A lovely opportunity to discover new books, meet curious people and make unexpected connections — all while being properly unreachable!
  • EPFL Scientastic: Health Technologies (Saturday-Sunday) – Discover the future of healthcare at this family-friendly science festival on the EPFL campus. Explore how technology is transforming medicine through interactive exhibitions, hands-on workshops, spectacular science shows, lab visits and encounters with researchers. From vaccines and medical sensors to chemistry experiments and programming, there's something to spark everyone's curiosity. A weekend of discovery for all ages!
  • Swisskicks - Street Culture Convention at Espace Amaretto (Saturday). Swisskicks brings together sneaker, streetwear and urban culture enthusiasts in Lausanne for a day of discovering the latest styles, meeting fellow fans and celebrating the local scene. This year's edition is completely free, making it the perfect opportunity to check out the community and soak up the atmosphere.
  • Sacha Boyadjian x Epiq – Culinary Residency (November 8–December 2) – After five years in Lausanne, chef Sacha Boyadjian is coming back for a one-month residency at Café de l’Hôtel de Ville, joining forces with the team at Epiq. Expect lively, unfussy cooking built around seasonal produce, with influences from here and elsewhere — served Sunday to Wednesday evening.
  • Journée de la Glace at Vaudoise aréna (Sunday). Vaudoise Aréna opens all three of its ice rinks for public skating, with introductory lessons in figure skating, short track and synchronised skating, plus live demonstrations and entertainment. Don't miss the ice disco from 5 to 7 pm, with music and lights. Skate rental is free (subject to availability), and entry is free for everyone.
