Ma Cocotte

There’s something irresistible about a spot that lets you press pause on the everyday—and at Ma Cocotte, that’s exactly what’s on the menu. Tucked along Vevey’s Quai Perdonnet, this iconic brasserie feels like an invitation to linger a little longer, whether you’re soaking up the sun on their lakeside terrace or settling in for an evening of candlelight and cocktails.

The menu leans into French and Swiss comfort classics, with hearty, no-fuss dishes served straight from the cocotte. We had colorful veggies with tapenade and hummus to start, alongside a perfectly steamed artichoke with aioli dipping sauce.

We then tried the boeuf bourguignon and the roasted chicken with fingerling potatoes—both cozy and satisfying choices that felt just right for a long lunch by the lake. And if you’re anything like us, you’ll want to leave space for the chocolate mousse—simple, indulgent, and the perfect way to round off the meal.

Complementing the food is a well-curated wine list and a relaxed, unhurried atmosphere that invites you to settle in, whether you're after a leisurely lunch, an afternoon pick-me-up, or a glass of something crisp at apéro hour.

As the sun dips below the horizon, Ma Cocotte reveals its second act. The lights dim, the music swells, and the space transforms into an elegant piano bar. Candlelight flickers as live tunes fill the air, while the bartenders mix up signature cocktails that keep the evening flowing. It’s the kind of place where you come for dinner and end up staying for "just one more" under the spell of the Riviera night.

If you’ve fallen for Ma Cocotte’s laid-back charm (and we suspect you will), you’ll be glad to know it has a few equally irresistible siblings nearby. From Coco Mama with its lakeside terrace and playful Asian-fusion menu, to Bla Bla for Italian plates and late-night energy, to CouCou perched high above Montreux, serving Alpine views alongside Swiss classics—and Villa Montreux, a beautifully restored lakeside villa offering a touch of Mediterranean elegance and contemporary cuisine. Each spot shares that same knack for creating places you’ll want to settle into and savor. Think of them as kindred spirits rather than carbon copies; each with its own personality, but all cut from the same cloth.
