Tucked just a few minutes’ walk from the eponymous metro stop, Brasserie de Montelly is the kind of neighbourhood spot that immediately makes you feel like you’ve stumbled upon a local treasure. Before you even step inside, the glow of the terrace lights, and warming fire draws you in. The promise of a cosy apéro outdoors, surrounded by the gentle hum of evening conversations.
On entry, as you push past the curtain, you could almost have landed in Montmartre rather than Montelly. Warm lighting, vintage charm, and an energy that feels both intimate and lively. On a mid-week evening, the brasserie was buzzing with locals of all ages filling the room, catching up over wine, laughter, and plates that smelled very promising.

The service is worth a mention: kind, attentive, and ready with thoughtful suggestions from both the menu and the wine list. The menu is intentionally concise with a tight selection of seasonal dishes that shows the kitchen prioritises quality over quantity. It’s the type of menu where every dish earns its place. Fresh, local ingredients, with a flavourful, home-cooked feel are generously served.

We were already thinking about our next visit before we’d finished dessert. And as we still get to enjoy chasse season for a bit longer, this spot deserves to be high on your list.

Whether it's for a cosy apéro or to settle in for a lingering dinner with friends, Brasserie de Montelly embodies everything we love about a neighbourhood brasserie: charm, warmth, and food that leaves you smiling all the way home.
