Things to Keep in Mind
- Proper gear: Sturdy hiking shoes, plenty of layers, a solid water supply, a first aid kit, and all the snacks (because there’s no such thing as too many trail snacks).
- Telecabin schedules: Double-check schedules on their websites, and when in doubt, give the local tourist office a ring. You don’t want to miss the ride down!
- Check the weather: We swear by MétéoSuisse for accurate, reliable forecasts. Be sure to check before you go so there are no surprises.
- Transportation: Seasonal changes mean bus and train schedules can shift—so keep an eye on those timetables.
- Trail maps: Download your map ahead of time! Most trails are clearly marked, but sometimes weather conditions may hide them. The swisstopo app (free) and Switzerland Mobility (free/paid) are both great tools to have on hand.
