A neighborhood bar and restaurant that is beautifully and thoughtfully designed. You'll want to cozy up on the velvet sofa, share a glass of wine with friends and maybe take a selfie or two in front of the neon sign.
Having our co-working space located in a new-to-us neighborhood in Lausanne has encouraged us to explore our surroundings and ‘meet the neighbors.’ Just a few minutes away is Café de Prélaz, a restaurant and bar with an ever-changing menu, and gorgeous decor that will make you want to Instagram it all. Your eyes won’t know where to look when walking into this restaurant and bar; the sleek chairs and velvet sofas, the jungle vibes wallpaper, the neon sign and vertigo lamps hanging from the ceiling. It’s literally a feast for the eyes and feels so thoughtfully and beautifully executed.
Café de Prelaz doesn’t have a fixed menu, but you’ll find a large variety of seasonal dishes for every taste. Our salmon salad with fresh mint and coriander was loaded with summer flavors and topped with a nice miso sesame seed dressing. You’ll also find the standard café favorites like steaks and chicken dishes, but we love seeing plates like with falafel and tabbouleh, or vermicelli and papaya grace the menu too.
While we haven’t stopped by for an after-work (or cheeky mid-afternoon) drink, we’ve heard from multiple friends that this is a perfect spot to enjoy an apéro and unwind. And with the current not-so-summery grey weather, we may become regulars at this beautiful neighborhood spot.
