For those who feel like Lausanne was cheated out of a proper summer this year, there’s a collective hope that perhaps our region will experience an extension or surprise appearance of warm weather. Often called an “Indian Summer”, we’re rounding up 3 local boat companies that are worth discovering to help you enjoy these last warm days on the lake before temperatures drop.

Following John

Lutry local and owner of the popular Lutry Paddle School, John also has sailboats or motorboats that can be booked to take you out on the lake, relax, and discover the region, including ‘after work cruises’.
Depending on the date and the number of participants, they select the ideal sailboat or motorboat. Contact them to discover more about pricing and get a personal proposal.

Bateau Le Botanique

Sip on chilled rosé, indulge in a fresh meal prepared by a private chef and take in the views around you while cruising on the waters of Lac Léman. Le Botanique boat rental, which operates from beginning of June until end of September, is your ticket to a bit of luxury and a whole lot of fun. They also have the option for a towable boat tube for kids, a wake surf, and a wakeboard. Max 12 people on board and the price includes boat rental, captain, and gasoline. Contact them for details.

African Queen 2

Explore the lake on this fully restored classic Dutch Saloon Boat, originally built in 1911 and reconstructed in 2012. Whether it’s a special occasion or you’d just like to treat yourself to a luxurious afternoon, the African Queen 2 can accommodate up to 10 people (though we’ve heard 5-6 is the sweet spot in order to avoid feeling cramped).
